The 24-year-old Peter Stetina, team Garmin-Sharp, rode and completed his second Giro d’Italia, 2012, playing a crucial support role in the mountains for Hesjedal. Stetina himself has worn the best young rider jersey at this Giro, but his personal ambition was set aside in the team’s pursuit of the final Maglia Rosa in Milan.
Stetina’s job isn’t quite done yet, following the Giro, he’ll head over to the Castelli HQ, in the North Eastern part of the Dolomites, to spend a couple days testing new prototypes, and photoshootings for the upcoming Summer 2013 catalog.
Another domestic Garmin rider will join Stetina for the photoshootings, Murlo Fischer, two-time Brazilian national champion, based in the Treviso area and a familiar face at the Castelli facility.
