Famous cyclists, including grand tour champions, walked through the doors and walked out with their very own Scorpion adorned cycling wear from the Castelli office in Milan. Andrea Peron was one of them.
In 2002, when the Team CSC clothing was emblazoned with the Scorpion logo, Peron was Castelli’s fit-test person for the CSC Team. Eight years later, Peron finds himself back in the Castelli office, but this time as Racing Performance Director.
With more than 17 years of experience in professional cycling, Peron will be able to provide a high-level of support to Castelli elite athletes around the world, and help the Castelli Tech-Lab creating faster clothing.
A successful career: Andrea Peron turned professional in 1993, riding for team Gatorade. He got his international breakthrough when he won Vuelta a Castilla-Leon in 1996, riding for Team Motorola, combined with a overall 5th place at the World Individual Time Trial Championships the same year.
Apart from being a domestique rider, his high versatility has won a number of races on the international circuits, and an overall 10th place at the 1999 Tour de France. In 2006, Peron announced his retirement as a professional cyclist after four years with Bjarne Riis on Team CSC.
Professional Teams: 1993 Gatorade, 1994 Team Polti, 1995-1996 Motorola, 1997-1998 Française des Jeux, 1999 ONCE, 2000-2001 Fassa Bortolo, 2002-2006 Team CSC.
