Hi! I am Margriet, a Danish cyclocross rider, currently living in the United Kingdom, I was born in Holland, and spent the last 7 years living in the cyclocross heartland that is Belgium. Jep, it’s complicated and yes, I do speak all the languages. My sporting career started out on ice, as a true Dutch child I was a speed skater. However, I soon found a love for two wheels and I have been racing bikes, in all disciplines, since I was eight years old. After racing on the road and participating in classics such as the Tour of Flanders and Fleche Wallone, while spending my winters having fun on the velodrome and in the mud, I realised my future needed to involve more mud. In 2011/2012 I did my first full international cyclocross season and since I have become Danish national champion and in my best year I was ranked 25th in the world. My main goal for the 2018/2019 cyclocross season is the world championships in my home (well, where my passport says I am from!) country of Denmark on the 2nd of February 2019. If I do the basics right for the next year, it will be one hell of a race!
